Dr. Cuomo previously served as Chief of the Shoulder Service at New York University (NYU)/Hospital for Joint Diseases, where she also was Director of the Shoulder Research Group and Shoulder Fellowship. Her academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Albert Einstein School of Medicine and Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical Center. She has taught numerous continuing medical education courses and has editorial responsibilities at such professional publications as Techniques in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. Dr. Cuomo’s area of expertise is Shoulder and Elbow Surgery including rotator cuff injuries, instability, fractures and replacement surgery for arthritis. Both arthroscopic and open procedures are performed. Specific areas of interest and research include fracture fixation, outcome of arthroscopic rotator cuff and glenohumeral instability repairs as well as prosthetic replacement for arthritis of the shoulder.
