I am a urologic surgeon specializing in robotic surgery. I have returned to MSKCC after 20 years of medical practice in Connecticut, where my work centered on the diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers. During that time I had the privilege of caring for many patients and their families who were faced with a wide variety of urologic malignancies.
During the last few years I have focused exclusively on the use of robotic surgery to treat cancers of the genito-urinary system -- in particular prostate and bladder cancers. I believe this innovative approach to surgery can achieve excellent outcomes for cancer patients while potentially lessening the side effects that can result from any surgical intervention. Robotic surgery is, however, an evolving technology which must be carefully performed and rigorously evaluated, with the singular goal of achieving the very best results for all patients.
